Kate Ibbotson – Professional Declutterer, Organiser & Life Coach

Ultimately, I have always been motivated by helping people to improve their lives. From as far back as I remember, I wanted to talk my family and friends through their problems and give practical and emotional support.

This motivated me to complete a degree in Psychology 16 years ago. Soon afterwards, I qualified as a Life Coach and worked with people who felt “stuck” enabling them to set and achieve goals and make huge, positive life changes .

I then took these skills into a career as a Probation Officer 10 years ago.

As I worked with individuals for whom life had taken the wrong path, I realised that creating a comfortable, organised home environment is a vital stabilising factor for us.

Shelter is one of our basic human needs. Our home doesn’t have to be perfect – but our environment is a key element to a calm, motivated mind. If we have too much “stuff” and live in disorder, we lose track of what is and isn’t important. This creates a hostile environment in which to live.

I am a big believer in // SIMPLICITY //

Once we start to live simply, we lead healthier, more satisfied lives. Simple isn’t always easy to implement though and that’s where I can help.

I felt compelled to train as a Professional Organiser and to launch A Tidy Mind in order to help those who are overwhelmed by their clutter & disorganisation. I use my expertise on time management, decluttering, storage, systems and styling alongside a range of coaching and counselling techniques. This really is a holistic approach aimed at transforming your life.

I know this helps improve lives. I witness that every day.

I have a love of home styling & interior design that has developed since I bought my first home, 12 years ago and as well as being a Professional Declutter Expert and a Board member of APDO (Association of Professional Declutterers & Organisers), I am a graduate of the Certified Home Staging & Styling Professional Course. Although the professional organising field is not commonplace as it is in the USA, we are growing at an exciting rate!

Some potential clients worry about me being shocked by their homes or feel ashamed.

Please don’t.

Disorder is more common that you think, it’s just not talked about. I am never judgmental about your situation, I simply want to help. I am not afraid of physical work, limited space or dust! Professional decluttering and organising is my calling and passion and I have honed my skills in such a way that what may seem overwhelming to you just fills me with excitement.

I understand what a huge deal it is for you to let me into your space. However, I will endeavour to put you at your ease and get on with the task in hand: making your space uncluttered, organised, inspiring and calm. That’s my job and I love it!

Hope to meet you soon,
